Pontis Architectural Group’s name origin tells our story. We wanted a unique name that symbolized who we are and what we are about. Instead of using the name Alan Shurtliff Architecture or Shurtliff and Associates, we dug a little deeper. The word Pontis is derived from the Latin word “pons” meaning “bridge”. Our tag phrase “Bridging Dreams by Design” is exactly what we are passionate about. We want to bridge the gap between our client’s dreams and their finished product. Our design process will “bridge” our clients across what is normally a very stressful and demanding process that many clients are frustrated with. Many clients find themselves with dreams and aspirations of what they want with their project but lack the ability to form those into a plan and a formal design. With our experience and our commitment to their project we are able to creatively bring their vision to life on paper. Then in a collaborated effort this is transformed into construction documents for the contractor to know and understand what the client’s Dreams are.
